My future job

 Hello everyone! Hope you had a great weekend.

I'm going to talk about how I imagine my professional future:

I'm currently studying Cinema and TV in the University of chile. I'm in the middle of a documentary that is going to be my "thesis". I'm also making my professional intership in a rental house of cinema products, like lightning equipment and cameras. 

All my career I've been interested in the photography, therefore, i want to become a DOP, wich is short for director of photography. 

The DOP is in charge of narrating through the camera, and creating the visual personality of the film. This is built by a lot of factors, like the camera movements, the texture of the image, the use of light and colors, between others. 

It’s because of this that in this job you need to have a lot of knowledge about camera and lighting equipment, how and why to use them. 

The aspect that made me fall in love with this field is obviously the passion i feel about cinema, but also the practical nature of it. Making movies is a reason for discovering a lot of worlds, of different places and people. You have to travel and understand the life of other people and situations that you don’t know. You can be outdoors or indoors, but you always are in a different place when making videos. 

Also, the work dynamic is very stimulating and wild, wich can be a problem, because you work really hard and sleep very little, but it's also a thrill to be parte of a large group and create something beautiful through work team. You get really tired both mentally and physically, but you have a lot of fun (not everytime of course).

I hope that eventually i can afford to live from this occupation, and that it allows me to travel to other countrys, hopefully filming a movie.

I would like to make, if possible, lots of documentary and movies, rather than commercials and institutional videos. Don't get me wrong, those can be fun too, but I would like to get the opportunity to create poetic and interestig images related to thing I'm passionate about.
